Terms of Use
Last updated: June 7, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Listen mobile application and related services operated by HR Labs ("Listen", "we", "our", or "us"). Listen is an audio app built around real-world recordings — field recordings of natural environments, places, and atmospheres — that you can discover, play, save, and listen to for focus, sleep, travel, and sensory comfort. By downloading, accessing, or using Listen, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility and acceptance
You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms in your jurisdiction.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Listen.
2. Your account
- Listen uses accounts to sync your favorites, playlists, and listening preferences across devices.
- You are responsible for the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate information when creating or updating your account and keep it reasonably current.
3. License and permitted use
Subject to these Terms, HR Labs grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to stream and listen to audio content available in Listen for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment.
- Use the app only in compliance with applicable law.
- Do not copy, reverse engineer, modify, resell, or exploit Listen except where applicable law permits despite this restriction.
- Do not interfere with the app, backend services, playback systems, subscriptions, or security controls.
4. Audio content and rights
All audio in Listen — including field recordings, soundscapes, place pins on the travel globe, related artwork, descriptions, and metadata — is owned by HR Labs or licensed from third-party recordists and rights-holders. Your subscription or use of the app grants you a personal listening license only.
- Do not record, download, redistribute, broadcast, stream, or publicly perform Listen audio outside the app.
- Do not use Listen audio in podcasts, videos, livestreams, commercial products, public spaces, or AI training datasets without our prior written permission.
- Do not strip, alter, or hide attribution or credits associated with a recording.
- Audio in Listen is not a substitute for medical, psychiatric, or therapeutic care; it is provided for relaxation, focus, sleep, and sensory enjoyment.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Certain Listen features and content require a paid subscription. Subscription prices, free-trial availability, and billing periods are shown in the app before purchase.
If you purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled by the platform provider under its terms and policies.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
- Deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription.
6. Content library changes
Listen is an evolving product. Recordings, places, categories, playlists, the travel globe, and features may be added, removed, replaced, or reorganized at any time as licenses change or the library grows. We do not guarantee that any specific recording, place, category, or playlist will always remain available in the same form.
7. Saved content and playback
- Favorites and playlists are tied to your account and synchronized to our servers; please keep important saved content backed up by remembering names or descriptions if it matters to you.
- Playback quality, availability, and latency depend on your device, network, operating system, and any device-level audio limits outside our control.
- Sleep timers, auto-stop, and similar playback features are provided for convenience and are not a substitute for safety checks before falling asleep with audio playing.
8. Acceptable use
- Do not use Listen to violate law, infringe intellectual property, or interfere with other users or our services.
- Do not attempt unauthorized access to accounts, backend systems, APIs, audio files, or non-public content.
- Do not use automation, scraping, or abuse patterns that degrade the service or bypass product limits, content licensing, or subscription gates.
9. Intellectual property
Listen, including its software, design, branding, text, graphics, place curation, travel globe, playlist editorial, descriptions, the recording library, and the curated structure of the catalogue, is owned by HR Labs or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to Listen if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for other users, or exposed HR Labs or its content partners to legal or operational harm.
You may stop using Listen at any time. You may also request deletion of your account through Listen's privacy settings where available.
11. Disclaimers
Listen is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that any specific recording, place, playlist, or feature will produce a particular mood, sleep, focus, or wellbeing outcome.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HR Labs and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from or related to Listen.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of Listen after updated Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
